WTCC’s Coronel goes yellow
DHL extends partnership with World Tour Car Championship veteran Tom Coronel
It may be yellow but it’s far from mellow. In 2015, Tom Coronel’s Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 will sport a new yellow color scheme as the veteran driver and Dutch WTCC hero partners with DHL in his bid to further his FIA World Touring Car Championship career beyond 230 races.
“The yellow color will be very important for me in 2015,” says Coronel.
Coronel, who has 222 starts to his name at WTCC level, has extended his close partnership with the world's leading logistics company, DHL – also the Official Logistics Partner of the WTCC. The result is a bright yellow, DHL-branded racing suit and car.
“The yellow color will be very important for me in 2015”
“One major change compared to the previous season will be the livery of the Cruze that will be mainly yellow this year,” said Coronel, who will also enjoy support from McGregor, TW Steel – big in oversized watches – Valvoline, ERU, Amando Face & Body Care, Equinix, AkzoNobel Lesonal, Intrax and Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma.”
“From a technical perspective, the car is almost identical to last year. The most significant difference is that the blue color is making way for yellow. That, of course, is the result of the partnership with DHL. Parts that were yellow last year, will now turn blue, because McGregor will again be one of my sponsors in 2015 as well.
“The yellow color also is visible on my helmet. Just like in the Dakar, my helmet will be sporting a cheese design with logos of the ERU cheese brand, so it will be 'Eat my cheese' instead of 'Eat my dust’.”
“Being able to race for another season is great.”
Coronel is excited for the new season, and we’re excited to work with one of the longest-standing drivers in the series.
