United: Thanks for the Moving Moments!
As Manchester United appoints a new manager and looks forward to the 2014/15 season, we’d like to thank our partner for the many moving moments of the past season. We look forward to continuing to support this great club as Official Logistics Partner.
The 2013/14 season was one of transition for England’s most successful football club. There were highs and there were lows. Now with Dutch national coach Louis van Gall at the helm and Reds Legend Ryan Giggs at his side, the team looks forward to a new chapter in the Manchester United story.
Despite the struggles, Manchester United and DHL delivered many moving moments this past season that we will not soon forget. Here’s a look at the highlights.
Inside the Manchester United Museum
In late 2013 United players and legends took us on a virtual tour of the Manchester United Museum at Old Trafford. Hosted by United Legend Denis Irwin, the treble-winning defender who played for the Reds from 1990-2002, this series of short YouTube videos offers a unique glimpse into a place only few of United’s millions of fans have the chance to visit.

Perfect moments on the pitch
Although disappointed at the end, the boys from Old Trafford at times put on a display that inspired us all. One of the most sensational moments was the thrilling 3-0 win over Greek title-holder Olympiciacos in Champions League play. Coming from a two-goal first-leg deficit, the Reds completed a comeback not seen in 30 years.
Weeks later the team put on a determined display in front of hometown fans to achieve a 1-1 draw against German powerhouse Bayern Munchen. After a number of setbacks in the Premier League, the moment was an inspiration that gave many fans hope.
Even as the season was winding down and United’s position on the Premier League table was clear, the team didn’t give up – clipping Norwich City in an emphatic 4-0 win. It was yet another example of United’s resolve and determination to remain one of the world’s top football teams.
A historic 20th Premier League title celebration
2012/13 Premier League Champions Manchester United took the celebration of their historic 20th title on tour – the United Trophy Tour, Delivered to the World by DHL. After kicking off in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on October 30, the five-month tour took the coveted Barclays Premier League trophy to 30 destinations around the world, including Dubai, Mumbai, Jakarta, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Moscow and Istanbul. The Tour gave fans across the globe the opportunity to celebrate with their beloved Club.

DHL Trick Challenge
Earlier this year we brought fans up close and personal to some of their favorite United stars in the fun and laid-back DHL Trick Challenge. The challenge was for fans around the world to upload videos showing off their fancy feet. On YouTube, Alan Keegan – the Voice of Old Trafford – was joined by the likes of Rafael, Smalling, Giggs, Evra, Fellaini and Januzaj to spotlight their silky skills only to be schooled by DHL’s Trick Specialist Frankie Vu.
