They’re Here! First Ten Formula E Cars Arrive at Donington Park, Delivered by DHL
Official Logistics Partner makes first delivery of cars to the ten teams participating in world’s first fully electric motorsports championship. Testing – which is open to the public! – begins in June.
The very first fully-electric Spark Renault SRT-01E race cars were delivered from Paris-based Spark Racing Technology to the new Formula E headquarters and team facilities at Donington Park Racing Circuit in the UK today.
DHL is the Official Logistics Partner and Founding Partner of the FIA Formula E Championship.
As part of the official opening of the new facilities, and ahead of the first track test at Donington Park in June, each of the ten teams took delivery of one race car, with the next ten-car DHL delivery scheduled for mid-June.
The delivery arrived on schedule and just weeks after the teams moved into their new 44,000 ft² custom-made, state-of-the-art home. Located in Donington’s Western Paddock, just 100 meters from the circuit itself at the Melbourne Hairpin entry, the new site offers high environmental standards, effective energy management systems and reduced carbon emissions – all in-line with Formula E’s sustainability core values – and complies with the “Very Good” BREEAM sustainable construction standards and the UK Government’s Low Carbon Economy and the National Planning Policy Framework requirements.
“In just a few months, the world will witness the inauguration of a thrilling new form of motorsport around the streets of Beijing, and other great cities around the globe.” (Ken Allen, CEO, DHL Express.)
