EXHIBITIONISM – The Rolling Stones, Delivered by DHL
From rare guitars and iconic costumes to personal diaries and backstage paraphernalia, The Rolling Stones’ first-ever exhibition is going on tour – starting in London in 2016!
They hardly require an introduction, but critics who call them “The Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band” do so for good reason. The music of The Rolling Stones is an inseparable part of rock history, but that history is more than the unmistakable riffs and iconic refrains in The Rolling Stones’ catalog – the art, film, fashion, performances, costumes and other artifacts are a major part of that history as well.
“While this is about The Rolling Stones, it's not necessarily only just about the members of the band,” said Keith Richards. “It’s also about all the paraphernalia and technology associated with a group like us, and it’s this that should make the exhibition really interesting.”
Opening in London in April, 2016, at the prestigious Saatchi Gallery, ‘EXHIBITIONISM – The Rolling stones, Delivered by DHL’ will feature over 500 important and unseen Rolling Stones artifacts from the band’s personal archives.
In London, ‘EXHIBITIONISM – The Rolling Stones, Delivered by DHL’ will take over nine massive gallery spaces – the entire Saatchi Gallery! Visitors will start their journey with a new film that looks back at highlights of the band’s career. What follows is an immersive exhibition in nine rooms, each with a distinctly designed environment that shows how The Rolling Stones changed how we experience rock and roll.
Once the London exhibition wraps up in September 2016, plans are in place to take ‘EXHIBITIONISM – The Rolling Stones, Delivered by DHL’ on the road to 11 global cities over the next four years. The international tour will be proudly presented by DHL. Tickets for the London exhibition are on sale on the EXHIBITIONISM website.
