United & DHL kick off United Trophy Tour in Brazil

To celebrate Manchester United’s historic 20th league title, DHL – the Club’s Official Logistics Partner – has teamed up with the Reds for the United Trophy Tour, delivered to the world by DHL. Kick off is today in Brazil.

The start of a globetrotting, five-month, 25-country tour, featuring the Barclays Premiere League Trophy and Manchester United gets started in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil today. United Legend Denis Irwin, who played for the Reds from 1990-2002, will be chaperoning the Trophy on this leg of The United Tour, which will see the “silverware” visit 31 destinations across four continents and travel more than 110,000 kilometers over the coming months.

United in Success
In 2012, DHL successfully partnered with Manchester United for the “DHL Champ19ns Trophy Tour”, which took the Barclays Premier League trophy and Club Legends around the world to celebrate Manchester United’s record-breaking 19th Premier League title. That Tour visited 27 destinations, including India, Turkey, Korea, Africa and Norway, covering a distance of some 77,000 kilometers.

The 2013/14 United Trophy Tour is aimed at building on the success of that first tour, as well as the record-extending 20th championship victory for the Club. It will bring the Premier League Trophy, a United Legend and, for many locations, a third new element – a museum showcasing artifacts from the Club’s history.

A unique opportunity for fans around the world
From Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the United Trophy Tour moves to Sao Paulo before traveling to Chile, Ecuador – closing the Latin American leg of the trip in Mexico. Both the Premiere League Trophy and the museum memorabilia cross the Pacific for the Asian leg in late November/early December. After the New Year, the Tour moves into the Middle East and India, followed by the United States, then back through Asia on its way to Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.

Fans across the globe will have the opportunity to join the Club in its 20th league title celebrations.

If you can’t visit the exhibition personally, join the experience at home through a legend-guided digital museum tour delivered alongside the United Trophy Tour on DHL InMotion.
