How are the trees going to be planted?
We want to give back to the local communities who help to host a Formula E race in their country, so in the lead up to DHL Global Volunteering Day in September 2020, DHL employees will work together with our GoGreen Environmental Protection Program specialists to plant the trees in the designated countries.
Which trees are going to be planted?
We’ll only plant trees that have been specifically approved in accordance with our GoGreen Environmental Protection Program. The trees will be selected in accordance to the ecosystem of each location and in agreement with local communities’ regulations.
What is DHL’s GoGreen Environmental Protection Program?
Due to the size and global reach of our Group, we feel we have a special responsibility to society and the environment. Our Group-wide environmental protection programme GoGreen is an expression of this strong sense of responsibility. The programme’s main objective is to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and local air pollutants. One way in which we are doing this is by planting more trees across the globe in accordance with the needs of local communities.
What is Mission 2050?
As a long-standing partner of the UN, Deutsche Post DHL Group strongly supports all Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and we have set the course for sustainable development across our Group as part of our Corporate Strategy. Mission 2050 is DHL’s ambitious environmental target to reduce all logistics related emissions to zero by the year 2050. Our strategic approach includes embracing sustainable solutions and involving our employees in environmental and climate protection activities.
