Spring Collections at MBFF Sydney
The months of September and October are always a whirlwind for the fashion jet set. With a number of inspirational Fashion Week events on the calendar, it's hard to decide where to go once the Big Four shows in the U.S. and Europe have closed. For those looking for a touch of sun and surf, the shows in Sydney at the end of September proved the perfect playground.
With 52 designers and labels showing their Spring/Summer 2015 collections, there was a wealth of new ideas to fashionably inspire the lads and ladies Down Under to update their wardrobes. A combination of both homegrown talent like Alex Perry and several brands from abroad, including Swarovski, made for a very cosmpolitan look out on the runways.
As is the standard for summer in Sydney, swimwear took the stage with top designs from We Are Handsome, previous winners of the DHL Fashion Export Scholarship. Previous winners Bec & Bridge were also hot on the runway, as was the 2014 scholarship recipient, Michael Lo Sordo, whose flowy red carpet womenswear will soon be seen everywhere.
