H By Hakaan Yildirim at London Fashion Week SS15
Designer Hakan Yildirim launched his H by Hakaan sportswear line at London Fashion Week in September 2014 after winning the DHL Exported Program aimed at helping established designers get their feet on the ground in a new market.
Beloved in his native Turkey for his elegant take on womenswear, the London-based designer with a flagship store in the Galata district of Istanbul, was one of four winners in the inaugural DHL Exported Program. The SS15 collection he debuted at LFW came heavily inspired by bumblebees and a love for nature and its relationship to humankind. Seeking balance between the two and considering both nature's positive and negative sides, Yildirim came up with an elegant yet sporty womenswear collection.
You can see glimpses of the collection in the video above, a behind-the-scenes look at the H by Hakaan runway show at London Fashion Week in September. With this show made possible through the DHL Exported program, the H by Hakaan label has helped the Turkish designer break new ground in England, where a second show, this time of the Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, will be held in February 2015.
