Francesca Liberatore’s head-turning debut at NYFW
Showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York for the first time, Italian designer Francesca Liberatore helped usher in the new season in eye-catching style. Her vibrant, sheer fabrics, double-slit skirts, billowing dresses, and Asian-inspired prints brightened the catwalk in the fashion capital of the world on September 8. Liberatore’s ready-to-wear Spring/Summer 2015 line was an homage to flowing ease and breeze, featuring women’s and men’s apparel.
Like Phoenix from the ashes, Liberatore’s line was inspired by birds rising from the rubble and refuse of an urban jungle. Characteristically innovative and adventurous, the Italian “child prodigy’s” spring and summer look soared with creativity and sparked imaginations - a high-flying debut at MBFW.
Milan-based Liberatore’s exciting presentation in New York was made possible by the DHL Exported program, which provides up-and-coming designers with the support they need to break down international barriers and break through into new markets. As one of the competition’s inaugural winners, DHL assisted Liberatore’s September MBFW debut and will deliver her next originals for the Autumn/Winter 2016 season. In the high-speed run up to the runway in the Big Apple, DHL’s shipping and export expertise ensured the timely and safe delivery of her inventive designs from Italy.
Moving collections around the world quickly is a must in the non-stop world of fashion. DHL and Francesca Liberatore are a perfect fit on the fast-paced track to trend-setting chic.
