DHL Looks Sharp at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin
The catwalks were abuzz in Berlin once more, thanks to fashion supporters like DHL.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin always kicks off the year in fashion with four days of shows in mid-January in the shadows of the Brandenburg Gate. This year was no different with over 40 designers including locals Lena Hoschek and Blacky Dress showing off their styles for Autumn/Winter 2014.
The week saw industry insiders from around the world gather in Berlin – where design, art and music have been inspiring the next generation of fashion stars for decades.
“This is the one point in the year in Berlin when everyone comes together – big designers and photographers, the media, models – all of them celebrating fashion. And taking the trends out to the consumer,” says Jarrad Clark, Vice President, Global Creative Director of IMG Fashion Events and Properties which owns and runs the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.
The highlight of Berlin Fashion Week is always the star-studded “StyleNite” show put on by designer Michael Michalsky in the heart of the city. This year’s theme, “City Love” was a reflection of the influence Michalsky gleans from life in the German capital city, as well as inspiration from his time as a judge in Shenzhen and visits to other major metropolises. Though the curtains have already fallen in Berlin, you can still watch the Michalsky show in its entirety here on In Motion or at the StyleNite website.
“The support I've received from DHL has been absolutely critical," says Michalsky. "It takes a huge amount of hard work and planning to design, create and organize collection launches like this, but DHL has been there every step of the way.”
