2 teams, 2 poles and 2 goals
connect like never before!
Pole 2 Pole is our biggest and most intense challenge yet!
Starting in the Arctic, five of our bravest employees are representing team DHL at the North Pole Marathon in April 2022. The ‘World’s Coolest Marathon’ is not a challenge for the faint hearted! Inspired by DHL4HER, five of DHL’s most daring employees will aim to join the 552 other people before them in competing a marathon in extreme sub-zero temperatures! As we all know, there really ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ for our employees and our Superstars will be showing off their Speed, Passion and Can-do attitude like never before.

From one Pole to the next!
In December 2022, our very own adrenaline thrill-seekers Roland Thomas and Liv Marit Stern will be attempting the formidable task of skiing to the South Pole and going on to climb the tallest mountain in Antarctica before the Solstice Day. You can read more about the teams and their stories right here!
Connecting the world with flags from Pole to Pole
Through DHL’s Pole 2 Pole challenge we are connecting the world like never before, not only through our universal support for the two teams, but physically through our Pole 2 Pole flags. These flags will begin their journey by visiting the North Pole with our five ultra runners before travelling south to Norway on Earth Day. From there they begin their own unique pathways across 100 countries throughout our six regions; Americas, APEC and China, Europe, MENA and SSA, before coming back together in Chile to make their way to the South Pole. These flags will give YOU the opportunity to be connected with your fellow employees across the world as well as our two in-house teams.
A tree for every Kilometre!
There’s more! This challenge is not just about our seven colleagues but all of us as a company. We understand and acknowledge the responsibility we have to our planet and the environment, which is why we will be planting 1 tree for every 1 km run or walked during your 'Connect Like Never Before Week' when each country has their flag.
Raising funds for a cleaner, greener and healthier planet
We are not only asking you to support the environment by running, but we will also be raising money locally for the charity Conservation International. They are globally active and collaborate with partners around the world to protect nature for itself and for the sake of humanity. You can find out more about them here! This is an opportunity for you to have a material impact on our contribution to creating a cleaner, greener and healthier planet.
2022 Global Goals
The global goals are simple - to run or walk 100,000 km as a global team, in order to secure the planting of 100,000 trees and raise $100,000 for Conservation International.
