Cirque du Soleil DRALION Tour Hits UK, Spain
A signature Cirque du Soleil® production, DralionTM has moved out from under the Big Top and into Arenas across Europe this month. Currently in the UK, the production will move to Ireland for a stint in Dublin on May 28 before heading to London and Manchester, then on to six cities across Spain.
Featuring 50 international acrobats, gymnasts and musicians, Dralion fuses Cirque du Soleil's signature style with Chinese acrobatic arts, drawing on Eastern philosophy for inspiration. As such, the set is comprised of a 60 foot wide, 26 foot tall Chinese-inspired temple – a huge backdrop that converts arenas into a magical world combining the Eastern symbolism of the dragon with the symbolism of the lion in the West.
In Dralion, the four elements that govern the natural order take on a human form. Thus embodied, each element is represented by its own evocative colour: air is blue; water is green; fire is red; earth is ochre. In the world of Dralion, cultures blend, Man and Nature are one, and balance is achieved. The elements are shown through the use of unique costumes – some 3000 pieces that comprise 58 road cases when packed for the road.
They're all pieces in the larger logistical puzzle that DHL is proud to be assembling, as we as Official Logistics Partner bring the unique talents of Cirque du Soleil to cities around Europe this summer.
