ONCE AROUND THE WORLD WITH DHL EXPORTED

The Autumn/Winter season 2016/17 is drawing to a close. This year, DHL Exported Cycle 2 offered four designers the opportunity to conquer new markets around the globe with their collections - a great reason to celebrate! Join the celebrations and let us know your A/W 2016 highlights for a chance to win one of 20 exclusive Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week goodie bags.

Marcel Ostertag, Sid Neigum, Atsushi Nakashima and Anne Sofie Madsen are the four lucky DHL Exported winners who made the leap from national to international markets this year. The four designers journeyed from Germany to New York, Canada to London, Japan to Milan and Denmark to Tokyo, meaning their creations travelled over 30,000 kilometres by land and air.

"My DHL Exported experience was fantastic", says Marcel Ostertag. The German national - the first of the DHL Exported Cycle 2 winners - made his runway debut at New York Fashion Week: The Shows. For his 20-minute show, Ostertag invested in no less than 80 metres of cashmere for 60 looks and 124 individual pieces. The designer spent 42 hours just researching sustainable fabrics for the collection.

Canadian designer Sid Neigum spent 1,000 production hours and 250 design hours preparing his collection for its impressive London Fashion Week debut. Meanwhile, the longest distance was travelled by Atsushi Nakashima, whose 3D-printed bracelets and shoes journeyed around 10,000 kilometres from Japan to fashion mecca Milan. Anne Sofie Madsen’s collection travelled just 1,000 kilometres less; her creations - designed over 135 hours - could be seen for the first time in Asia at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo.

"Something’s not good until it’s sold internationally. We see that in music all the time", says Neigum, describing the spirit of DHL Exported. The four winners have already taken their first steps to global success. Ostertag, Neigum, Nakashima and Madsen will be able to present their Spring/Summer 2017 collections in the autumn.

All DHL Exported fans now have the chance to win one of 20 exclusive Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week goodie bags!
