MACARIO JIMENEZ DESIGNING LOGISTICS AT MEXICO FASHION WEEK

Designer Macario Jimenez’s take on fashion logistics

World-renowned designer Macario Jimenez teamed up with DHL Express at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mexico with a special exhibition showcasing the logistics behind the fashion industry.

The exhibition "DHL Express: Accuracy of the trade at the service of Mexican fashion" was on display at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mexico at the Military Club in Campo Marte in September.

Jimenez used his experience as a world-class designer to create the visual installation that explains in a creative and dynamic manner the logistics process of the fashion industry from the initial conception to the delivery of the final product into the consumer’s hands: "DHL Express: Accuracy of the trade at the service of Mexican fashion."

"When we had the idea of doing this exhibition, we considered all the emotions that are involved in each step of the making of a garment: from the creative idea, ordering fabrics, processing and the final packaging to the end user. The point was to highlight what DHL represents as a tool for us designers and the various ways in which it facilitates our work," said Jimenez.

Whether for swimwear or shoes and accessories, every step of the production cycle is assisted by DHL -- and designers can have access every step of the way thanks to tracking programs from DHL. From the procurement of materials and samples to the delivery to any boutique around the world, DHL is there helping get those goods to consumers.

With the fashion industry in Mexico comprising more than 20,000 companies, providing more than one million jobs, the fashion industry in Mexico deserves the attention of a key global player like DHL to develop their full potential.

"DHL Express is a company that can be seen everywhere. And this inspires great confidence because we create a garment for a special and specific occasion, and with DHL you can rest assured that your creation is going to be delivered on time," said Macario Jimenez.
