The quarter finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup kick off tonight! Evra, van Persie & Fellaini and Januzaj are still in the hunt!

We’ve felt a void the past two days with no football – well now it’s finally back with an action-packed evening of quarter-final action: France vs. Germany and Brazil vs. Columbia. Two European powerhouses and two South American giants. What more could we ask for?

France vs. Germany
United’s Patrice Evra will be the first Red Devil to take the pitch as his French side battles Germany once again. The 33-year-old defender is expected to start.
Evra’s team earned a hard-fought win against Nigeria to make the quarter finals France's chances of progressing into the last four may have been boosted by stories that Germany is dealing with the flu bug. "Seven players are slightly ill with flu symptoms," said Germany’s coach Joachim Low.

“If Belgium win the World Cup, I will cut my hair.” (Marouane Fellaini)

Argentina vs. Belgium
Marouane Fellaini, Adnan Januzaj and Robin van Persie will have to wait one more day to compete for a spot in the final four. Fellaini and Januzaj are first up vs. highly favored Argentina on Saturday. After shooting the game changer against Algeria, the wild-haired midfielder wants to take his team to the final and win!

“Now that we are in the quarter-final we have got to try and go all the way,” he said. “I have placed the bar high for my guys but now I'm going to make it even higher.”

And he’s added a hair-raising promise: “If Belgium win the World Cup, I will cut my hair.”

Netherlands vs. Costa Rica

Robin van Persie will be put to the test tomorrow night against one of the tournament’s biggest success stories. The Costa Rican side has upset the odds, qualifying first in Group D and then ousting Greece on penalties in the round of 16.

The Netherlands have scored the most goals in the tournament so far, with van Persie contributing three to the tally. And some think his superman header in the group stage is one of the greatest goals in World Cup history, never mind this tournament alone.

If Manchester United’s poll has anything to say about it, than van Persie has a World Cup Championship in his future. Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands won 51% of votes cast.

Good luck boys! We want to see all three of you in the semi-finals!
