DHL delivers FC Bayern Munich around the world as full-service eCommerce partner
In Germany, FC Bayern Munich is synonymous with a winning tradition. As the team’s new international logistics and full-service eCommerce partner, DHL is proud to help the club spread that winning tradition to fans around the world.
Just hours before defending German league champions Bayern Munich took to the pitch to kick off the 2014/15 Bundesliga season, a press conference at the club’s Allianz Arena revealed good news for the club’s fans around the world.

For the next six years, DHL will be partnered with the club as the official logistics provider, supplying international logistics and full-service eCommerce solutions to Germany’s most successful football team.
This means that fans can feel a closer connection to the team no matter how far away they might live from Säbener Strasse, the team’s headquarters in Munich.
"Our services will create a strong base that will enable the team to build on its business success both nationally and internationally,” said DHL CEO Frank Appel.
One example given by Bayern Munich executive board chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge of how that will work is the ability to utilize DHL’s eCommerce expertise and global presence to speed up merchandise transactions for fans all around the world.
“At the moment, to give you an example, if an FC Bayern fan orders an FC Bayern jersey in Beijing, this will take two to four weeks,” he said. “In the future, they will receive the jersey within 48 hours.”

Another benefit of the new partnership is a service for Bayern Munich fans visiting the team’s Allianz Arena to have any merchandise they buy shipped to them at home, rather than carrying around shopping bags.
“With DHL acting as our experienced, globally respected partner, we intend to further expand our online touchpoints with our fans around the world and thus our international merchandising,” Rummenigge said.
Appel, who admitted to being an FC Bayern Munich fan since he was a boy, commented that as “strong, internationally-respected brands,” the partnership between DHL and Bayern Munich is a perfect fit. Given Bayern’s five Champions League titles, 24 German Bundesliga titles, 17 German Cup wins, and a host of international football legends, it’s hard to disagree!
