NYFW: The Shows

New York Fashion Week: The Shows kicks off today as designers from around the world present their Spring/Summer 2016 collections at the Skylight at Moynihan Station and Skylight Clarkson Square.

The week-long event includes presentations by nearly 70 labels, including that of designer and DHL Exported comittee expert Nicole Miller, who was on the selection committee for the inaugural round of the DHL Exported program last year and who just took part in the selection of the four recipients for cycle two of the program.

DHL Exported is a collaboration between IMG Fashion and DHL, Official Logistics Partner to 22 Fashion Week events around the globe. By providing four already well-established designers with runway slots in a new location along with the logistical and media support necessary to help them get their feet on the ground in a new market, the DHL Exported program assists designers as they branch out in an industry  that's become increasingly global.

NYFW: The Shows kicked off with a runway show by Nicholas K, one of the four designers selected in 2014 to take part in the DHL Exported Program and who has shown their womenswear collection to Milan Fashion Week for two seasons. Italian designer Francesca Liberatore, another of the DHL Exported Program designers, will be returning to New York this season, with a show on September 12, 2015.

It seems appropriate, then, that NYFW: The Shows will provide the backdrop for the next big DHL Exported announcement on September 15, when the winners of the second round of the program will be announced at a special event.

Not in New York? Stay tuned to In Motion and the DHL Exported social media channels -- Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest -- throughout this Fashion Week to learn which four labels will be getting the backing of IMG and DHL as they take their collections abroad next season.
