That's a Wrap! for Fashion Week

Though the fashion season, and along with it the inaugural year of the DHL Exported Program, has come to a close, the shows are still fresh in our minds. As Official Logistics Partner to more than 30 Fashion Weeks worldwide and proud supporter of a number of designers as they present their collections to buyers around the world, DHL has been busy these last few months keeping up with all the goings on in the fashion world.

Kicking off in January at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, the Autumn/Winter 2015 shows proved that the gray skies of winter are no match for the bright colors on the runway.

In February, the Big Four presentations began, with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York leading the pack. There, two DHL Exported designers, Francesca Liberatore and Nicholas K warmed their audiences' hearts in a uniquely freezing city as they presented their unique lines of womenswear.

At London Fashion Week, the DHL Exported love affair continued with lines by House of Holland and H by Hakaan wowing buyers and media both backstage and in the front of the house. At Milan Moda Donna, Nicholas K showed for the second time thanks to the DHL Exported Program, and DHL took a look inside Francesca Liberatore's store and studio in Italy's most fashionable city.

From there, the jet set headed to Paris Fashion Week, where DHL Denmark supported Copenhagen-based designer Anne Sofie Madsen in her extraodinary presentation at the Ambassador's residence.

Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai was up next, where DHL held its own fashion show under the motto Global Trade Improves Lives featuring two of India’s biggest names in the world of fashion: Kunal Rawal and Nishka Lulla.

In Japan, House of Holland continued its colorful advancement into the Asian market thanks to the DHL Exported Program and an incredible, inspired showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul, the youngest of the Fashion Week events, really came into its own this year, with more than 40 shows and a star-studded reception for local boy-done-good Hakaan Yildirim, one of the DHL Exported Program designers whose collection was well-received at London Fashion Week the month prior.

Hot on Turkey's heels was the always-hot presentations of Russian designers' latest at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, for which DHL acts as Official Logistics Partner and helps new labels get their well-heeled feet on the ground.

Though the southern hemisphere follows a different seasonal schedule, the swimwear and resort garments out on the runways of Sydney for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week reminded us in the north of the warm weather yet to come. It also provided a backdrop for the announcement of the sixth annual DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship competition. Previous winner Michael Lo Sordo brought out a stunning new collection to show just how far he's come since last year's incredible win.

While the next few weeks will be spent busily preparing for the next round of Fashion Week events, you can keep up with all the latest goings on in fashion, including the DHL Exported Program, by following us on social media: Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, You Tube and Twitter. And be sure to check back here frequently as we prepare for big news regarding Round 2 of the DHL Exported Program.
