Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin /// Michalsky StyleNite

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin kicks off its Spring/Summer 2015 collection showings on Tuesday, July 8 in a brand new location.

With Germany fully engulfed in Fussball Fever and World Cup games being broadcast in the shadows of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, the organizers of this season's event had to hunt down a new location for the tent that normally houses the four days of back-to-back runway shows. This season's temporary home is the Erika-Hess-Ice Stadium in Berlin Mitte, an excellent venue that's housed fashion events in the past and which offers designers a spacious and unique venue that mirrors Berlin’s inimitable artistic qualities.

“The fashion industry is about change and we love having the ability to do something different for a season,” said Jarrad Clark, VP and Global Creative Director, IMG Fashion Events & Properties.

The schedule from July 8-11 is as packed as ever, with local design favorites like Lena Hoschek, Anja Gockel, Patrick Mohr and Michael Sonntag, among those showing. DHL Exported program finalist Lala Berlin will likewise host her own event at Der Deutsche Oper this season.

As always, the highlight of the week is designer Michael Michalsky's concluding show, held Friday, July 11. Though access to the Tempodrom is limited, the Michalsky StyleNite event will be broadcast live here on In Motion beginning at 20:00 CET so be sure to check back to see all the action. With a line-up that includes British pop singer Rita Ora and Ballet School, the “Important Secrets” themed show is an event not to be missed!
