TORUK- The First Flight is a new show from Cirque du Soleil – a live immersive multimedia spectacle that brings to the stage the breathtaking world of James Cameron’s AVATAR like you have never seen it before. Narrated by a “Na’vi Storyteller” and populated by unforgettable characters, the show is a mythical tale set thousands of years before the events depicted in AVATAR, and before any humans ever set foot on Pandora.

Great is in the Detail, Episode 7-9
The TORUK - The First Flight chapter of our film series with Cirque du Soleil flies you to the distant moon of Pandora to discover unique puppets, learn the significance of the ‘Tree of Souls’ in the storyline, and piece together the importance of the ‘Dream Catcher’ structure within the set design.
In Episode 7, we encounter the show’s unique marionettes (puppets) and learn about the detailed planning that went into developing the TORUK - the great leonopteryx that rules over the Pandoran sky.
In Episode 8, we study Pandora’s Flora – the moon’s vegetation that is vital to the lives of the Omaticaya communities. Taking you behind the scenes, we dive deep into the development of the ‘Tree of Souls’ and ‘Home Tree’ and witness how they are brought to life on stage.
In Episode 9, we explore the challenges that went into the set design, uncovering the central role of the ‘Dream Catcher’, which is part of the essence of the story.
The Series
The TORUK - The First Flight chapter of our film series builds on the success of Episodes 1-6, which featured the KOOZA™ and KURIOS™ - Cabinet of Curiosities shows. The series shines the spotlight on the fascinating world of each show and brings to life some of the intricate details that make Cirque du Soleil so unique and special.
