Race behind the race
After wrapping up in the United States, Formula 1 is heading to Mexico for the second leg of the triple header. The journey from Austin, Texas to Mexico City spans roughly 1,500 kilometers, with much of the freight being transported by trucks. However, the F1 cars themselves will be flown as air freight from the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
At over 2,200 meters above sea level, the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is the highest circuit on the F1 calendar. This elevation will significantly affect car performance, particularly when it comes to cooling, making it a unique challenge for the teams. For comparison, Austin’s elevation is just 150 meters, highlighting the stark difference.
Once the race in Mexico concludes, teams and drivers will immediately head to Brazil for the final leg of the triple header in São Paulo. After that, there will be a two-week break before the final triple header of the season, with races in Las Vegas, Qatar, and the finale in Abu Dhabi.
