British Grand Prix

Race behind the race
Formula 1 teams and drivers are returning to Silverstone, the birthplace of the World Championship. The first championship race was held here on May 13, 1950, on a converted Royal Air Force airfield in West Northamptonshire. Since then, Formula 1 has evolved from a seven-race, largely European championship into a global series.
Silverstone remains one of the sport’s most iconic venues, known for its high-speed layout and famous corners, including Maggotts, Becketts, Abbey, and Copse. The British Grand Prix is also one of six sprint weekends on the 2026 calendar, adding another layer of intensity to an already demanding race weekend.
After Silverstone, the teams will have a short break before the final push ahead of the summer break. The Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps will be followed directly by the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring. Throughout the European leg, DHL’s biofuel-powered truck fleet transports cars, equipment, and infrastructure between venues, supporting Formula 1's and DHL's shared commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2030.
