After an indifferent end to 1998, there were ominous signs that the Treble-chasing Reds were beginning to click into gear after scoring seven goals in the previous two fixtures at Old Trafford.
"We really created a lot of problems for them" (Dwight Yorke)
Spearheaded by the ruthless attacking partnership of Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke, they would go on to bag 5 goals between them. Steve Walsh's 75th-minute strike was merely a consolation for Leicester with the last word going to the most unlikely of candidates as Jaap Stam stabbed home his first and only goal for United, much to the delight of Sir Alex Ferguson.
"Our friendship on and off the pitch really did help us immensely.
And we just clicked" (Dwight York on Andy Cole)
