DHL helps ‘Pass the Parcel’ with UNICEF and Manchester United

This holiday season, we’re very happy to be a part of a UNICEF donation drive which is being supported by a special Christmas Appeal by Manchester United.

UNICEF’s Pass the Parcel campaign helps provide urgently needed supplies for children caught up in humanitarian emergencies. These supplies are necessary to help children survive conflict and disease (including the current Ebola crisis). In addition, kids will receive other materials that will help them enjoy childhood with educational and sporting opportunities.

That particular goal is met through the shipment of ‘Sport in a Box’ containers, a lockable case with enough sporting equipment for 90 children to play together. The materials include footballs, a goal net, a basketball, skipping rope, whistles and Frisbees, allowing a safe environment for play to be created even in times of crisis.

DHL’s role comes into play after donations have been collected through the Manchester United Pass the Parcel Christmas Appeal. At that point, we’ll deliver the ‘Sport in a Box’ parcels along with the rest of the urgently needed aid supplies to regions that need them most.
