DHL Fastest Lap Award: 2015 FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX
The Iceman strikes again: Kimi Räikkönen has made his first podium appearance of the 2015 season in the FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX. On the way to claiming the runner-up spot behind winner Lewis Hamilton, the Finn also set the fastest lap of the race.
The Ferrari driver has already lifted the DHL Fastest Lap Award trophy twice before in 2007 and 2008. His fastest lap in Bahrain was the 41st of his Formula 1 career, putting him on level pegging with the four-time world champion Alain Prost. Both now share second place in the list of All-Time Greats. Number one is undisputed record championship winner Michael Schumacher. During the course of his career, he posted 77 fastest race laps.
Räikkönen set the fastest time of the race on Lap 42 while chasing down Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. “In the last laps I was getting closer and closer and could see Hamilton, but the race was at its end, we would have needed more laps to try to do something,” said Räikkönen who became the first ever winner of the DHL Fastest Lap Award in 2007.

With the first four races of the 2015 DHL Fastest Lap Award now complete, Lewis Hamilton leads the standings on two fastest laps ahead of Nico Rosberg and Kimi Räikkönen, each on one fastest lap.
After four overseas races, Formula 1 returns to Europe. The fifth race weekend of the season will be staged on the weekend of April 8th - 10th with the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA PIRELLI 2015 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
