DHL Exported: In the Studio with Marcel Ostertag
Designer Marcel Ostertag has made a name for himself in his native Germany with his eponymous womenswear label that combines both high fashion and everyday pieces for the average woman -- heavily inspired, he says, by his mother.
With Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin fast approaching, Ostertag invited us into his studio to watch as he puts the finishing touches on his Autumn/Winter 2016 collection, the third in his Elements series. It's a different collection, more glamorous and structured than some of those he's debuted in the past. That's because as one of four labels to be taking part in the DHL Exported program in 2016, Marcel Ostertag will be showing at New York Fashion Week in February as well.
"I'm going to bring German glamour to New York."
- Marcel Ostertag
With a look that could be described as distinctly Berlin, Ostertag will be bringing German design abroad and hoping to make a splash in the American market when he arrives. "Made in Germany stands for something for me. It's the story of my heart."
