DHL Delivers: Anne Sofie Madsen at Paris Fashion Week

One of Denmark’s top designers, wunderkind Anne Sofie Madsen continues to show her talent for creating extraordinary ready to wear. In 2014, that included a jaw-dropping runway show at Paris Ready-to-Wear Fashion Week, her first in the French capital.

The prize-winning graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts is no stranger to Paris, having trained there under John Galliano before moving on to work as Junior Designer at Alexander McQueen. After breaking out on her own, Madsen returned to Copenhagen, where she opened Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2011, just one season after debuting her eponymous label at London Fashion Week.

It was there in Copenhagen that DHL Denmark began its years-long partnership with Madsen. As Official Logistics Partner to more than 30 Fashion Week events worldwide, DHL’s experience within the fashion and retail world is unparalleled. Our global network has helped us gain expertise in nearly every country around the world, which has helped up-and-coming designers substantially as they expand their brand – a vital step to gaining a foothold in a fierce industry. We saw this in 2014 with the launch of the DHL Exported Program, which saw four well-established designers set their sights on a new market: New York, London, Milan and Tokyo.

DHL’s Denmark offices did something similar with the Anne Sofie Madsen brand, providing the designer with advice on the logistics requirements for breaking in overseas, an e-commerce platform that helped make the purchase of Madsen’s unique collections easy for the average consumer and finally, by ensuring the one-of-a-kind pieces seen on display at the Danish Ambassador’s Residence last September as part of Paris Fashion Week were delivered on time and in perfect condition.

The result was stunning, as the designer sent out her most feminine collection yet, maintaining the pale palettes of seasons’ past while giving the hard edge over to something more intimate and romantic. The show won her fans and, more importantly, new buyers. Anne Sofie Madsen clothing can now be purchased as far and wide as Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Rome as well as her hometown.

Madsen returns to the runways of Paris on March 3, 2015 with her Autumn/Winter 2015 collection showing as part of Paris Fashion Week and once again, DHL Denmark is proud to be helping every step of the (run-)way.
