United in Success – DHL Believes in its Partner
Every business has its ups and downs – and it’s no secret that Manchester United currently finds itself looking up at where they’d like to be. New team manager David Moyes is making moves to equip his squad for the uphill battle.
With the recent signing of Spanish star Juan Mata and the return of both Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney, the team’s attacking options have been bolstered significantly as United goes into the second half of the season with guns blazing. It’s been one attention-grabbing Premier League season so far and the next round promises to be one of the most competitive and unpredictable in history.
Sometimes you have to regroup and shake things up in order to find that top performance – to go from good to great.
Although Moyes has guided his Premier League champion side to the final 16 of the Champions League and the semi-finals of the League Cup, the team sits in seventh place on the Premier League table – not a place the boys from Old Trafford are used to, let alone want to be.
United in Success
DHL knows a thing or two about regrouping and rebuilding – and coming back bigger and stronger. Despite our excellent brand reputation and global reach, our business has not been without its challenges. In recent years we, too, looked within to change and improve, refocusing our efforts on what we do best: international shipping. And that’s one of the reasons why we are the world’s leading logistics company.
Coach Moyes certainly has one huge advantage: the support of his team – an absolutely vital component of any winning side. Top striker Robin van Persie – who has found the back of the net in both of his first two matches after being sidelined with thigh problems for a month – is backing his boss as he looks to address the club’s stop-start season.
"Moyes needs time, he's new," said van Persie. "The manager is our leading man and he will change things around."
The Dutch national player and two-time Golden Boot winner is confident the Red Devils will turn things around “sooner rather than later.” And the new United striker trio is sure to play a major role in that turn around. Van Persie is tied for 7th on the Premier League top goal scorer table – sharing the spot with teammate Wayne Rooney, who also returned to the pitch for the first time in weeks against Cardiff City last week. There is no doubt that this deadly strike partnership will boost the club and the two will be begin climbing the top scorer ladder again.
Sometimes you have to regroup and shake things up in order to find that top performance – to go from good to great.
As one of history’s greatest and most successful football clubs, we’re betting that that’s precisely where Manchester United is headed.
