FIA Formula E returns to Europe

After four races in Asia and South America, DHL moves FIA Formula E across to Europe for ePrix in Monaco, Paris and a double-header in Berlin.

Deutsche Post DHL Group, the world’s leading logistics provider, returns the innovative street racing series to Europe from Mexico for a series of exciting races in Monaco (13 May), Paris (20 May) and Berlin (10/11 June) before heading back across the Atlantic for the inaugural races in New York and Montreal.

With a stunning drive in Mexico, Lucas di Grassi of the ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport team, spectacularly ended Sebastien Buemi’s perfect start to the season, and closed to within five points of the Championship leader. Returning to Monaco for the second time, the most famous and revered street circuit of all is the perfect place to resume the battle for the championship.

Monaco, Paris and Berlin

After Monaco, the series heads to the heart of Paris for round 6. Set against the backdrop of the historic museums and monuments of Les Invalides, the Paris ePrix is a firm favourite with Formula E fans and newcomers to the sport.

The final race of the European season is a relatively short hop almost 900km north east to the city of Berlin, and a welcome return to the iconic Tempelhof Airport, and an all-new track layout where fans will enjoy one of the series double-header race weekends.

For DHL, their team of passionate motorsports experts will maximize DHL’s global network and pioneering logistics solutions to move up to 450 tonnes of equipment almost 50,000 km around the world in the most efficient manner possible, including:

  • Consolidated shipping – including bespoke transport boxes for optimized load capacity
  • Efficient transport mode and carrier selection – where time permits, DHL apply a multi-modal solution across road, ocean and air transport
  • Carbon Management – measuring and reporting carbon emissions and offering off-setting solutions

Championship freight includes 40 race cars, 45 lithium batteries, 20 charging units, and all the media and broadcast equipment required to bring the Championship to life.

Inaugural races in New York and Montreal

DHL has returned the street racing series to Europe and will continue to support the teams and organizers from race to race. And when the chequered flag drops for the last time in Berlin, the series will head back across the Atlantic for the inaugural races in New York and Montreal – and DHL will be there, every step of the way.
