DHL Exported Tokyo Finalists
With a number of programs established in recent years aimed at cultivating local talent, the organizers of Japan Fashion Week have helped launch the careers of many emerging designers over the last decade. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo has become the go-to event for trendhunters interested in locating the latest streetwear fads so it's no surprise that the three finalists for the DHL Exported program are ready-to-wear labels based out of England. The finalists include:
Sibling International, a collaboration between Sid Bryan, Joe Bates and Cozette McCreery, all designers from the UK with years of experience at a variety of brands and design houses. Their motto is: it is “never as easy as it looks.”
House of Holland's Henry Holland got his start in fashion after catapulting into the limelight with his irreverent “Fashion Groupies” slogan tees. Now in the brand's 13th season, the award-winning House of Holland held its first solo show at London Fashion Week in 2008 to critical acclaim.
Todd Lynn, a Canadian alum of Central Saint Martins has dressed rock stars ranging from Courtney Love to Bono to Marilyn Manson, but it's his eponymous label's ready-to-wear designs for men and women that have got him the most notice since 2006.
The winners of the DHL Exported program in all four cities – New York, London, Milan and Tokyo – will be announced in London Tuesday, May 27, so be sure to check back for all the details, or follow us on Facebook or become a fan on Pinterest or Instagram.
