FC Bayern
World Premiere: Meet the FC Bayern Global Family
It started with a simple selfie: fans from all over the world – over 18,000 and counting – submitted their best images showing their love of FC Bayern Munich to our special FC Bayern Global Family page.
The response was truly remarkable and showed the enormous enthusiasm of FC Bayern fans worldwide. As Bayern Munich’s official logistics partner, DHL put its own global network to use in sending a special package around the world to 12 lucky fans. The final result was a film like no other, showing that the love of FC Bayern Munich spans the globe. We’re very happy to present the finished film here!
The story started in Munich where a special package was packed with an FC Bayern Munich jersey, signed by some of the team’s stars. Then, the package began a journey that took it to 12 cities around the world.
Dublin was the first stop, where we met Ian and checked out his FC Bayern tattoo on his right arm. He added his signature to the FC Bayern jersey, packed it back up, and sent it on its way.
Berlin, Budapest, Marrakech, Rio de Janeiro… just a few of the cities the special Bayern Munich package visited on its trip around the globe. In each city, we met one Bayern Munich fan and had them add their signature to the jersey.
We learned that the biggest foreign fan club of FC Bayern Munich exists in Mexico, with over 4,000 members. One of them – Frida – shared her story about becoming a Bayern fan, and why the heart and dedication they showed in a match they didn’t even win made FC Bayern her favorite team.
Jay in Mumbai recalled the Champions League quarterfinal in the 2015/16 season, when his favorite player Thomas Müller scored a 90th-minute equalizer to give Bayern a draw against Atletico and a ticket to the next round.
Every fan we met had their favorite FC Bayern Munich moment that connected them to the FC Bayern Global Family. Documenting these 12 fans and the thousands of others who submitted selfies has been an amazing experience, and we feel honored to be a part of the FC Bayern Global Family.
